A calendar displays the month of August with most of the days crossed off. Ine says, "Morning, Mom," and she replies, "Good morning, Ine." Ine is nonchalantly sitting at the kitchen table in front of his laptop. His mom, a dark green lizard with blue stipes and a fin on her head, sits across from him. Ine says, "Two weeks 'til school starts. Guess I should find an apartment soon." His mom looks surprised and says, "You've just started looking?" Unworried, Ine says, "Yeah, there's still plenty of time, right?" Mom touches her chin thoughtfully and says, "Maybe, but pickings could be a bit slim." Ine looks surprised as she continues, "And another thing, how are you going to pay for an apartment? Have you found a job yet?" Ine fiddles with his fingers and grins nervously as he says, Oh, ah... I was kind of... hoping you and Dad might... help me out a little...?" Mom squints back at him, incredulously.
