Over Breakfast 6

Transcript

We see a closeup of Dil's face, looking sad as he narrates, saying, "I was born in a small town in India. My parents weren't keen on having a feral son." We see a faded image of a male peacock and a female black panther, standing next to each other. Dil continues, "They tried to force me to be a biped. It didn't work well..." We see a much younger Dilawar, playing with a soccer ball on the floor. His father, the peacock, glances at him in annoyance, saying, "Dilawar, on your feet. You are not an animal." Next we see young Dilawar attempting to stand on his hind legs and wearing a makeshift robe while his mother, the panther, holds his front paws. Little Dil says, "Mam, it hurts! I don't like it!" His mother says, "Shhh, you'll get used to it. Now let me see you walk." Then we see Dil's father, holding Little Dilawar by the scruff of the neck and pointing angrily and yelling, "Off your front paws!! Don't let me catch you on all fours again!" while Dil grimaces and looks up at his father with tears in his eyes. Present Dilawar then continues narrating, saying, "After a few years of this they gave up on me..." We see Little Dilawar calling after his father, "Bapa! Bapa, come back!" His father is walking away, his back turned and a cloack wrapped around him, while saying, "Away, urchin! I am not your father!" Dil concludes the narration, saying, "...And abandoned me. I never saw either of them again."
