June approaches a table where Ine is sitting by himself without any food, staring off into space. June looks annoyed as she thinks to herself, "Why'd she have to go and make things awkward? All I wanted was that recipe." Ine suddenly turns to look towards her. We see a closeup of June's face as she looks surprised and blushes, holding a hand to her mouth as she thinks, "Didn't I...?" Ine smiles and waves and she smiles and waves back, continuing to blush, and thinks, "It was nice talking to him. I guess I could sit and chat for a while..."

Boy, that new technique I picked up for drawing blushing characters sure came in handy for this chapter, didn’t it! ☺
I realized in the middle of coloring this page that the background felt too empty. Ine is meant to be sitting off by himself, but it still made sense to draw at least one background character at the table behind him, not to mention all the others in the room that should be visible behind June! Luckily I had time to drop some in from a previous page. It didn’t take too much extra work, and helped fill in some of that blank space. Sometimes blank space is fine; you don’t always need to fill in the background details. But as I mentioned before, it’s a balance. I try to develop a sense for when it’s time to add more, as well as for when less is more.
