The school I went to, like some other private schools, had certain standards of dress, grooming, housing, and behavior that all students were expected to keep. As part of that, periodically students needed to meet with an ecclesiastical leader for a brief interview where they would state whether they consider themselves willing and able to keep those standards. For members of my church, that meant the bishop of our ward. It’s not required to be a member of the Church to attend however. Those of other faiths could have their interview done by their own religious leader, or the bishop over their geographical area. To be honest, I don’t recall if being a member of the Church but not currently attending–as is Kraal’s situation–has any special considerations. For the purposes of this story though, Bishop Reyes is happy to sign Kraal’s endorsement provided he continues to follow the school’s standards.
